Very true!
These are some of the most remarkable cars ever made, IMO.
You have this big car with tons of room inside that doesn't take up a lot of room on the road. It has the practicality of a wagon with the soul of a European GT car.
It goes faster than anyone has a real need to go, yet gets better mileage than many econoboxes. It is incredibly safe. Astonishingly comfortable for long runs on any kind of road in any weather conditions.

They are quirky and frustrating at times, and need more than average care and feeding, but they deliver far more than you put into them in satisfaction.

An acquaintance told me, upon learning I was about to do a nearly 800-mile road trip on business, told me I should rent a car, since my expenses were being covered. I told him when I do that I usually wind up in some sh!tbox like a Pontiac or Impala or Camry with lousy seats, numb steering and rubber suspension. And that those cars are boring to drive and after a 6.5 hour drive I am tired of being in the car, if not just plain tired. But in my 9K, four hours is just getting warmed up and 7 hours is right in the middle of a nice relaxing day on the road. Turns out he drives a Solara (really just a 2-dr Camry), so he had no idea of what I meant.
