I'm looking at a 92 9000 turbo 5-door. My last 9000 was an 86, which treated me well. I finally got rid of it, 200K miles, when my wife got bit by the minivan bug, and have been driving a C900 CVT for the last 5 years. I need some advice from you all.
The car is in relatively good shape for it's age, 143K miles, nice interior , but has a few flaws. I'm trying to put a value on the car, considering the repairs needed.
Both rubber bushings on the upper torque arm are shot. Can I replace the bushings, or do I need to replace the assemblies?
No A/C, the compressor needs a clutch and the condenser has an oil buildup an the passenger side near the lower hose connection.
Needs an antenna mast.
Cracks on the body inside the rear passenger side door frame, but fairly clean metal, so it can be welded up.
Substantial cracking on the top of the dash.
A number of minor parking lot dents in the body, but no rust except for some minor stuff around the edge of the passenger side rear wheel housing.
Lower motor mounts new, clutch new, most hoses new.
The asking price is $3500, which seems a little high for a car without the dents and maintanance issues. This car is going to need some $'s and some labor.
Any opinions on value and/or cost of repairs????
thanks
