...ride much improved today. New tire load balanced perfectly, rotated rears to front, raised tire pressure to 43 with intention of backing off tomorrow.
Still a little shake from the rear, but we'll see whether that goes away. Turns out the tire shop that sold me the tires and did my alignment did a bad job on the alignment -- 4mm of toe-in on right! So I'm hoping that, with the fronts now rotated to the back, I'll wear off any effect on the tires from the bad alignment.
Nice to have the steering wheel straight when driving straight, at long last. I was beginning to feel like it was me, not the car, who was off-kilter.
