I just went through this. The head of the torx screw had already been damaged a bit, and I couldn't get a good grip on it with the torx driver. I drilled it, and then went for the easy out, and that was a disaster. Turns out the screw was seriously rusted and I broke the easy out. So I spent quite some time cutting out the head of the screw. (And a good deal of brake rotor, but I was replacing them anyway.) I would forget about the easy out. Drill until you can get the rotor off. If you want you can then re-thread the hole for a new screw. Otherwise, don't worry. This is not a vital screw. There was nothing I could do about mine once that easy-out was broken off in there, so i just cut it down to be flush with the hub and forgot about it.
Eventually I will be replacing the wheel bearing, and then I can put a new screw in.
