My 92 9000S was getting a little long in the tooth, and after a hot spell this week, decided I definitely needed a new car with working AC. Happened to see an ad for 98CSE in the paper, checked it out this morning, and am purchasing it. 93K miles, Auto (other than this and it would be perfect), all records. Felt pretty tight, boost went up to first or second split line, engine compartment looked fine.
Here is what I plan on doing once I take possession - please comment/add to the list as appropriate. My 92 was a non-turbo standard, so some of this stuff is new to me
-Change oil (duh). Whats the latest on Mobil 1/synthetic. Worth it or not?
-Flush and Change coolant. Replace t-stat, coolant switch, all hoses just to be sure.
-Flush and change auto tranny fluid. Replace filter? Recommendations on fluid?
-New plugs
-Change steering fluid. Recommendation on procedure and fluids?
-Double check all bushings, motor mounts, hoses.
-Replace air filter.
-What do I need to do regarding the turbo (go to hooters), bpc, etc.
-anything required for the ACC?
My only other concern is that the steering pump seems to make a growl when the wheel is turned all the way to the limits. No sound before that, just at the very last bit of travel. Is this something to be worried about?
Can't wait to stretch this ponies legs!
Appreciate the feedback.
Ron
