89 t-stat and blue vs red Saab coolant...

I picked up an 89 t-stat at the dealer this morning and will put it in hopefully this week (gotta fit work, kids, house, wife, etc. all in as well). This is to correct my over-heating dilemma on Sunday.
Dealer stated 89 is best since they have found that the 82 screws up the Trionic system sometimes.
I'm planning on using Saab coolant (vs MB). What's the diff between the blue and the red types? I know the blue is normal life (changed at 30K miles), and the red is extened life (changed at 60K miles), but are there any better qualities to the red kind? Both types can be used in the 9000.
