Instant overheat issue WAS the t-stat!...

Changed the t-stat and did a coolant flush/refill over the weekend. Did the same to my '93 900T convertible as well. Both cars had clean and spotless coolant fluid come out, as well as t-stat housings. I was impressed. I used the blue Saab coolant.
I used an 89 t-stat, though the dealer does not stock Waxstat anymore. Was quite surprised to see "MotoRad" on the new one. This one is not as beefy as the oem one, but it was all I had and so I installed it. I spoke to the dealer this morning about that, and he said they've changed suppliers and have never had problems with the new ones. I'm thinking it's a GM-related thing, trying to cut costs, yet still charging the same price as before.
Everything is back to normal now, thank goodness. I also gave the TB a scrubbing with a toothbrush, as well as cleaned and re-lubed the Hyperboost piston-style BPV.
Thanks for the help, everyone!!!
