One on the left rear and one on the right front. I think you will need to support both of them. The wood/jack under the oil pan is good too except it's nice to have nothing under the car where you'll be working. If you plan to keep these cars (ANY Saab), an A-frame (for under the hood) is nice to have and not hard to build. We made ours out of 2X4's with a pair of them for the cross piece. The weight is only about a quarter ton so anything you construct will probably be adequate. We put an additional block under the front two edges (on the fender seams just inside the hood) to level the thing a bit. Not necessary to remove the hood, either. You can buy an engine balancer from Harbor Freight or Sante Fe Tools (if they're still around) for under $25.00 that has chains for each hook with a big hand screw to adjust the relative height of each. It then suspends from your frame (or hoist) on a single point. Useful but not required for this job. (Almost necessary to remove an engine/transmission assembly.) You could take a single chain, bolt it to one hook, take two or three wraps around the frame beam, and bolt it to the other hook. I lift the engine as far as I can (within the limitations of the motor mounts first. Then hook on to the frame removing as much slack as possible and lower the floor jact. The A-frame should take most of the weight causing very little drop when you lower the subframe from underneath. Works fairly slick and you'll feel like you're doing things right. You'll love having it when clutch time comes around.

By the way, the NG900 has a single subframe while our 9000's have the split unit. The savings in effort (on a transmission job) is not near as great as I expected with the two piece unit. Suspension is still required. You still have to deal with both ball joints. Go figure.
