'94 9000 Turbo 89,515 Miles; new plugs last year 1500 miles ago. Just changed 02 Sensor. HC and CO all passed with flying colors. The Nox test was at 2 speeds 15MPH max 697, mine 488 = Pass; 25MPH max 697, mine 768 = Fail.
The fellows asked if, I was using cheap gas, like Costco or Arco - yes, I replied. They recommend using a name brand like Chevron, Shell or Union 76 (theirs). Anyway, they told me to run a couple of tank fulls through and then retest.
I always thought gas was gas, and I did pay attention to the octane always buying the highest available. I guess buyer cheaper isn't always the least expensive.
I went to the parts store and bought some Techron to use also.
The only problem is this is my second Saab, only driven 2,000 miles max a year ( I have a 9-5 Aero too). Guess I will have to find a way to drive a lot in the next 2 weeks.
