I have read that, and I have to say that Quasi has never steered me wrong on anything, but the notion of putting an engine oil in the transmission just seemed a bit too out there to me! It's very possibly the right thing to do, but if changing my transmission fluid every year keeps it shifting smoothly, then I'm inclined to do that, rather than going out on a limb. For one additional trans fluid change in two years, this amounts to an extra $30 a year to solve the problem. Saving $30 is not worth risking what is -to me- such an unknown quantity. The other thing is, I don't spend a lot of time with my car in one gear on the highway - it's rare that I would drive an hour without shifting out of top gear. Here in MA, the highways are pretty crowded, so I frequently drop to 4th to get into the powerband. I think there are a few people here who have switched to Amsoil in the transmission, people are certainly doing it. See if you can find any posts on here from people who have done it, and see if they've left feedback. Good luck!
