THis happened in my 91CD. The dealer didn't even know you could do this but I found the instructions in my owners manual I think. I don't remember what way to crank it, so you should mark your seat track with a piece of tape where the slider is, then begin turning. Check after a minute of turning and see if the seat has moved, and it was probably less than a centimeter. Oh yeah, remove the exposed bolts first, then begin turning. It took me 30 minutes of turning that damned crank to get enough clearance to remove the bolts. I got rugburned on both of my elbows in the process too....at least that is how I remember it;)
Remember very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very gradual. you have to make certain that the tip is fully seated in the slot or it won't turn anything.
Good luck. You should also know the brain under the seat is the same on both sides of the car. You can pull the one from the other seat to verify a failure of the board before purchasing a new board. Email me if you have trouble.
