Step 1 is to check the spark plug gap. One sign of a too-large gap is engine miss under hard acceleration (boost). While you are at it, look for burning/blackening of the contacts on the top of the spark plug, where it meets the DI. If the springs in the DI don't make good contact with the plug, you'll have a small gap there, effectively increasing the plug gap.
A 5 month old DI is unlikely to be the problem, but it could be a premature failure of the DI. It does happen. I assume that there was some warranty on the DI, but probably only 90 days at best.
