HI,
I have a broken aerial mast as well and I have found the reason why the new plastic strip will not feed into the unit.
It is because there is a small gap where the tube buts against the inlet to the coiling area. It is only a small gap of about 2 mm, but because the new plastic strip is curved, the tip will stop at this gap and will not feed any further into the coiling area.
You may need to take out the aerial from the car and take apart the unit and feed it in manaully by helping it over the gap. A small thin scredrive can click it past the gap. The other way is to nake sure that he tip of the new strip is straight before you feed in. If you decied to heat the tip, carefull you do not break it as you bent it. Make sure you heat it up just enough so that is is slighty flexable, then bend it straight.
Hope this helps.
