the interior looks the same, but the bodys are definately different. I have to think that they would fit though because one thing saab liked to do was not change part numbers or interior styles too many times. My 89 looks remarkably like a 98 9000 on the inside.

Any saab steering wheel will work. You could upgrade to a sport MOMO wheel if you choose or go with an 89 or earlier 9000 steering wheel with 3 spokes.

The dash in my 89 CD and my 91 CD were absolutely identical save for the wood trim package that is in the 91 and the window switch assembly.

Personally I would do the same thing you are doing. Dont try to hook up airbags to a salvaged car. The only thing worse than not having them, is having them not work as designed.
