Due to the horrible sound that comes from this system I'd like make some changes. I plan to change the head unit which I'll do when I find a used inexpensive CD player. I haven't yet decided whether I'll put in an amp for the rear speakers which I do already own. For now I want o change the rear speakers because I have some Pioneer 6x9's left over from a past car. I'm not planning to change the front speakers because they sound quite good and very loud, of course.
I've looked over the entire rear compartment and I cannot figure out how to get into the speaker compartment. It looks to me like you have to take off the entire one piece carpet area that covers each entire rear side but I find that hard to believe. I also can't seem to figure out how to pull this carpeted cover off the upper speaker area. I read somone else post that said to just pull it down but I just tried that momments ago and that doesn't work. It doesn't budge. Is the carpet somhow bolted to the upper area?
Can someone shed some like on how to get to the point where the speakers can be umbolted? I've done it many times with the earlier model 9000's but it is totally different.
