The pump you bought comes with a new flange and a large o-ring gasket. Once you remove the flange, everything should be clear to you. Open all windows and doors. Don't smoke. The two fuel lines go into the holes on top of the fuel pump through an angle fitting. The angle fitting is snap held by a plastic tab. Move it out out the way. Grab onto the fitting by pulling and twisting at the same time. You are overcoming friction of two o-rings. Good thing it's summer. The plastic is in very little dange of brittle failure because of warm temperature.
Use some wet q-tips to clean dirt accumulated between the pump to tank seating surface.
It'll take you 10 to 15 minutes to complete the job.
