quick summary
I have a 1993 2.3 fpt 9000 with busted throttle body (TCS) worn CV joints cracked windscreen ( thats the biggie ) various other electrical gremlins & in a generally poor condition, been sitting dormant for a few months now.(car beyond economical repair)
Also have a very good condition 1992 2.0 LPT 9000 with one very sticky noisy & occasionally backfire inducing hydraulic "tappet" I'm currently running this one 100+ miles a day.
Kinda got used to the performance of the FPT when it ran well & am concidering an engine swap.
Can this be done by swapping only the mechanical "lump" of engine i.e. transmission, block, barrels, head & internals untouched but using the induction chamber & throttle body, injection system etc.. from the 1992 2.0.
I know this sounds crazy when all I really need to do is sort the hydraulic "tappet" but I do miss the extra horses, also can the ECU from the 2.3 be swapped over too or will it miss the TCS signals ?
thanks in advance,
Stephen H
