Very high milage 9K owners beware. The right rear strut on my NJ 225k miles '93 9k CSE rusted and broke through the mount. The car is drivable but, as expected, bounces and the handling suffers. A welder has agreed to fix it next week for $150. The left side still looks OK.
This note is to warn you it can happen. A BB search on this issue found only one reference to a thin rusted wheelwell ready to break through. One local body shop says rusted mounts are common. They had a Mercedes with the same problem. Either look up high under the rear wheelwells by the struts or take out the interior carpet under the speakers to examine the mount/wheelwell.
