That's the 2.0 litre, correct? If so, get ready to cuss and fuss (unless you have a lift). The filter is in the rear of the engine, towards the passenger side. Take a light, and shine it down from the top of the engine, just left of the oil filler tube, and you'll be able to see it (if you have arms the size of a 12 year old concentration camp detainee, you could reach it from above).

Turn your wheels all the way to the left, and raise the car up with a floor jack - and you will still have to be a contortionist just to reach it. And no matter what you do, you will get a major amount of oil to run down your arm (even if you manage to get a plastic bag around it, your arm will likely still get bathed). Oh, and it can get worse: directly below the filter is a part of the frame that oil can pool in - make sure you have a large quantity of rags or towels there to stop that from occuring, otherwise, as you drive along, the pool slowly drips down onto a drive shaft, where it centrifugally migrates towards the center, and then off, onto the hot exhaust pipe, creating a lovely fragrance in and around the car. Also, if your starter was lost the insulating cap over the hot wire, you can wind up touching it, which will give you a momentary thrilling experience. BTW, don't use the low quality skinny little GM filters - use a quality Volvo filter which are twice as fat as what GM sells now (before GM, SAAB used blue label Mann filters, which were the same size as the Volvo filters).
