the car is equiped with a shift lock it is powered of the fuse panel and through the brake pedal to activate an electric motor to pull a small tab to release the shifter. If you have good fuses and power to the brake lights then you may have to resort to surgery! remove the shift lever cover (2) t-25 screws from dash side, then pull it up then look at the area in front of shifter pop the small plastic cover (round) out to reveal a t-10 screw then carefullypull the shift cover out of the way, the back edge is tucked under and the front edge has the black slide plate passing under the lowest cubby in the center console so I repeat carefully pull it out!!!
once you get it out look down in the front of the shifter you should see the metal plate down there stopping you from pushing the release buttons on the sides of the handle (when you squease the buttons it causes a bownward push on the white button at the top of the lever)pry out on the metal plate (towards the front of car)then you should be able to shift the car. now coose to remove the lock or repair as needed
good luck
Rick
