As stated.. Gotta get it Welded.. IF it can be, depends on the tear and where it is.
Goop of ANY sort is just a waste of time and an excercise in frustration.
Te Flex bit is necessary, it needs to be there and be healthy.
Do check your engine mounts as that's the usuall cause of Flex breakages as opposed to the other which is Rust out of the attached Tubing.
