many people who have modded or performance cars (of any nationality) aren't necessarily very good at driving them or getting the most out of them. Have never figured out why, but have seen this on the road and autocross courses. Most people have no idea of just how fast you can go around a corner, or anything about the difference the right line in a corner can make.
But it IS so much fun to blow those types into the weeds. They think they are getting 100% out of their cars, when they might be getting 70%. You (or many of us here!) come along and get 80-85% and it's enough to make them wonder just what's wrong with their cars. FUN.
