Ignition Switch Problem

Turned the key in the ignition, and the power came on (lights, cooling fan, etc) but the starter would not engage, with no "resistance" on the key when turned to the start position. The car stayed in this "run" mode even when the key was removed. Dissasembled the black plastic cover on the steering column and discovered that the ignition switch had separated into two pieces. There is a gear/lock portion and the actual switch, held together with two set screws, and connected via a gear assy. Mated the two sections together and tightened the set screws. Problem fixed! I'm brand new to Saab's having purchased a 97 CS 2.3lpt a few weeks ago. Love the car, and have been lurking about on the board here for a few weeks, but this is my first post. Thought I would add some advice to a useful BB that has prepared me for SAAB ownership!
