In a word, yes. The 97 Anniversary CSE like I have is inbetween the Aero and the CSE having some of the Aero features. You can make a CSE/Anniv. faster than a stock Aero easily. A manual Aero comes with 225hp, auto Aero with 200hp. The CSE manual or auto is 200hp. With a few modifications, you can get past 250hp. The bb differs on manual vs autobox, but either one should be able to handle that kind of increase. Typical modifications on the hp side are highflow airfilter, 2.5 or 3" exhaust, and stage 1,2, or 3 ECU from one of the sites sponsors. Suspension upgrades are commonly done, even on the Aero. Hope this helps in your decision. IMHO The 9000 is a much more comfortable and refined car. They have a incredible combination of luxury, performance and utility. And last but not least they inspire passion for driving.
