A 92 9000 Griffin with 168K miles can very well be a money pit IF the previous owner have not kept up with repairs or if he have been lucky and not had anything go wrong.
The Griffin came fully equipped with gadgets and some of them were not good solutions.
TCS and rear A/C is things that cost a lot to repair to name a few.
One question though. Didn't you have the car checked out before buying.
It's always a chance to take to by a 12 year old car with 168K miles and not have it checked out by a Saab shop.
Another question. $4000.00 in 4 month is a lot of money. Could you please specify the repairs since some of the repair might have been regular maintenance items that DO occur from time to time.
Ones again, it might have been a reason why the former owner got rid of the car because he knew exactly that the car needed $4000.00 worth of repairs in the next 4 month.
I also question your repair shop (is a Saab specialist?)to not inform you of the state of the car before plowing money into it.
