No issues with the other Saabs as well. I know about the fuel pump, I've been there :-(( . Tank is 90% full, I fill up before light comes on. I do not really suspect the pump, everything measured ok, got it running briefly at startup. The mallet trick has not worked for me before, it just run and died anyway 20 seconds later when I tried that.
The other reason why I do not really suspect the pump is that when it died 1 1/2 years ago, as well as on several occasions when I depressurized the system by removing the fuse (which is essentially the same), the car would run for some seconds before dying. Then it would start a second time, and sometimes even a third time. This problem ocurred much faster, indicating a problem nearer to the injectors IMO.
The only thing I did essentially to get it to start was putting the rear side of the FPR to atmospheric?? Could that have something to do with it?
I will indeed put a bottle of injector cleaner soon, did that last year or so for the last time. Just curious, Daren, why do you think one would need to add that every week?? For me that is essentially on every fill-up.
Thanks for your time!!
