I have a vibration in my steering wheel as well (88 9kt), and it seems to be the LF control arm bushing--the rear one.
The link below is to a previous post by Ari on this subject, and using his suggestions, this is how I narrowed mine down.
My vibration seems to come and go, regardless of speed, road surface, tires, wheels, etc. I'm hoping that some poly control arm bushings will eliminate it.
