For your reminder to start with the basics. I had cleaned the clamps when I put the new Optima in a few weeks ago. They appeared to be fine, but I took them off, wirebrushed them, reset them and the EDU showed 11.3 V. Turned right over, and within a half block, charging normally.
I suspect I may indeed have a bad cable. In the meantime, guess I carry the battery clamp cleaner and a 10MM wrench in a handy location.
Fortunately, don't need radio code, since I have an aftermarket one.
