Not true. There is a '93 2.3 turbo (200hp) non-ETS Trionic box. Part number 91 36 474. Unfortunately, pretty much all the '93 turbos sold in the USA got ETS (box part number 91 36 490).
I had a -474 box shipped to me from the UK when I did the standard throttle conversion on a '93 CSE turbo 5-speed (about 3 years ago). The more difficult parts of the conversion had to do with tweaking the engine wiring harness to accept the AIC valve and TPS. Wiring changes are also needed to make the a/c circuit function properly. The most difficult thing was retrofitting the standard cruise control system. If I had to do another conversion, I'd probably skip that part completely.
Anyway, the conversion worked beautifully in the end... until the timing chain blew. The mileage on the car was approximately 68k. After fixing that debacle, the clutch slave cylinder blew. After fixing that, I sold the car, and have been sticking with the older B202 cars.
David.
