About a week ago driving down the road with the ac on the fan switched itself to the highest setting and none of the ACC controls would do anything,
hen, as it came on, it went off, and suddenly i had control over the fan again. The windows had gotten fogged up, due to humidity, and i wondered if Saab, in all its brilliance, had installed a humidity detector which sensed this and turned on the fan to clear the windshield, which it did, but silently I thought, looks like i'm heading for acc trouble...
well, yesterday my wife was trying to turn down the fan and as she would press it to go down, it would go down, then on it's own start going faster again. she repeated this pattern a few times.
she can't remember how she finally turned it off, either with the off button, or when turning off the car, but now the fan control is out of commission.
the ac compressor kicks in, but all i hear is a faint faint fan noise from under the dash, which goes away when i pull the appropriate fuses, the fan low light is lit, but when i press the fan high switch, nothing happens, the light doesn't light, and the fan doesn't go anywhere...
if i do the self-calibrate, the fan light goes to the light between the high and low, and nothing else appears to happen (I'm holding down auto and the <> buttons), no cycling lights up the right side as described in the dash manual
i'm guessing that since the ACC controls generally worked fine before, that i'm dealing with some other issue???
any ideas??
