I am assuming that in the process of freeing up your stuck waste gate, you had to move the wastegate acuator rod back and forth. If you did move the rod (perhaps abruptly?), you might have ruptured the vacuum diaphragm in the wastegate vacuum servo (at the end of the actuator rod). Sometimes the diaphragm becomes a bit brittle, but not enough so as to cause breakage under limited (i.e. normal) movement; forcing the diaphragm to move farther and faster than it is now accustomed to in its old age may have cause it to rupture, which would allow any pressure put on the wastegate (during normal running) to force the wastegate wide open - hence, no boost.
