So my beloved 90 9000S standard trans is 1500 miles away from me and as you can imagine rarely gets driven.

I'm starting to be concerned about what might go wrong with it from not being driven.

Last time I drove it was May, prior to that it had been March, prior to that, January maybe.

Basically, every 2-3 months on the good side.

I changed the oil, when??, might be two years ago now, but it was Mobil 1 or Valvoline synthetic and I've only put 2 or 3000 miles on it.

What should I be doing?? Is it best to just let it sit for a couple months in between usage.

Would it be better to have someone start it once in a while?

I lower the insurance coverage when it's not being driven so it's a little complicated to have someone drive it for me, but maybe around the block wouldn't be much of a risk. Any thoughts??

I also don't have a garage (it's in western MA) for it, so it sits during the winter.

Same with my 69 442, which has gone through 14 or 15 winters with me, some outside, some garaged, just sitting, usually without starting for 6 months, and so far, cross fingers, never had an issue just from sitting (except maybe points and condensor once), it starts right up.

Any experience or thoughts on how to protect these guys would be most appreciated.

My plan for this weekend when I visit them is to change the oil in the 442 (non-synethic is a couple years old, maybe 1000 miles??), and put in maybe a synethic blend with lucas treatment since I hardly drive it. Lucas in the trans too just to treat the seals.

The saab, should I change the oil, or will the synethic I have in there last?? I thought about adding some lucas treatment to that one too, just cause the lifters are getting a little noisy (10W30).

Figured I run some lucas fuel treatment in both cars as well and fill the tanks.

The 442 coolant was new a couple years ago, Saab, maybe it's a few years old, I'll have to check color, both set for well below 0.
