I have almost no sound in Clarion Radio (or CD unit), even if the volume is all the way up. I can hardly hear the sound. This is the original Clarion made for SAAB unit.

All the fuses (including in the amplifier under the seat) are OK.
This happend when I drove (with radio on) and suddenly started to smell burnt plastic for about a minute. After that, the sound is barerly audible. LCD screens on the radio/tape as well as EQU/CD units are lit and work OK. All the radio/CD controls are working fine.

I removed all units (including amp.)for visual inspection. No burn marks there. Cables seem OK.

Any clues?

According to the schematics, the amplifier supplies sound only to the rear speakers. Does it mean that the amp is OK ?
