you can get to the bolt that is next to the speedo gear, under the shift coupler. you can see it better with the turbo inlt pipe removed. I vac the fluid out from that hole as you can put a small hose that goes right to teh bottom of the diff so you can vac out the complete amount. I have an 88 so my level indicatior is on hte plug that is on the front of the trans, so I cannot help there.
it is hard to break free. i bend down from the top, wear leather gloves, and use a 3/4 socket with a small extension. Every time when the plug breaks free I smash my knuckles on the back of the block.
the trans was designed as a non drain, but you be the judge. I change regularitly but my car is seriously modified, so anything to keep the trans intact for a few year at a time.........
