Hi, I have the weirdest noise, and no one can find out where its coming from. I just replaced the turbo and lines, along with a water pump. After that i started to play with the timing and all the sudden i get this really weird noise. Its coming form the pully system. the alt is fairly new, new water pump, crank pully not slipping, ac pully not connected.
The noise sounds like a weird bearing sound. Conditions; does it at stand still (not wheel bearings), very quite at idle, but when gas is applied the sound is heard. As i drive the sound gets louder. sounds like the sound is related to the engine revs. I've replaced the idler pully just today, same noise. I did the screw driver listen trick on the alt, PS pump, water pump, idler pully, and i CAN NOT pin point the sound. I even checked the starter.
I cant think of any thing else that can be moving in that area.
Please help me out, mad props to whoever can help me solve this issue.
Thanks
ben
