Soooo...I got my SAS Sway Bar kit installed!!! :-) Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Sun, 10 Oct 2004 23:57:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Holy crap what a difference!!!! Its unbelievable how tight the car is now in turns! I also had all the sway bushings switched to poly, along with the front control arm bushings, as suggested here. Its absolutely stunning how the car handles now. Simply amazing!
I was a little concerned because I had found some old posts talking about how bad the ride quality would be after the mods? Yes, it is a little bit rougher, but its nothing compared to the 900SE. If anyone is on the edge of whether to go with this or not, definitely do it!! I haven't yet found any reason not to!! Today I found myself taking entrance ramps much more confidently at a higher speed than usual. Not that will abuse this, but its definitely nice to have it. For anyone interested, the stock CS/CSE sway bar in 18mm, the stock Aero sway bar is 19mm and the SAS one is 1", or about 23-24mm. So the car obviously feels much stiffer.
I can't say what the total install cost was. The bill came to $1000, but I also had an oil change, brake pads, an ABS sensor, and a bunch of other odds and ends done, and he charges I think $58 an hour.
Can't wait to get back on the road with it tomorrow!! But everyone be careful, there will be a lot of holiday travel tomorrow and a lot of patrol I'm sure...
