Hi Guys
On the 92-94 Units , 96% of code problems is the CD Player. I would advise not buying a used PU-2047A CD Player unless it has been rebuilt by a reputable service center. .Most of my work comes from folks that buy from yards and Ebay. The PU-2947A has a few design problems, one being about 12 Surface Mount Capacitors on the CD Controller board and Laser RF board and Laser , plus the memory battery leaks. With out these being removed, the boards reprocessed by having any of the acid removed and neutralized, bad runs repaired, the unit will self distruct. Even a unit that seems to work will fail in time if the leakage is allowed to continue.
Thanks and have a great day , Wasyl at Saabradio
