Eriksson rebuild installed; only one small thing though

It is hard to shift into 5th gear. It's more like it is hard to move the shifter over far enough to the right; actually lift up on the reverse lockout mechanism slightly to get far enough over.
To be honest; this may be somewhat connected to a DIY job I did around 40K miles ago. I replaced the shift knob and don't think I aligned the small thing on the bottom properly so that it strikes the guide on the right side in the correct spot. Just seems worse now with the new transmission.
I can live w/this condition; heck I lived w/a bad 2d gear synchro for a very long time... but if relatively simple fix is available, then I'd prefer to make it right. Thanks, BWD
