Assuming you mean ECU (engine management system). If so, yes disconnecting the battery will do it, but make sure you have code for radio before you do this! If you're lucky, it will be written down somewhere in your Saab document wallet. Saab dealers have the code but it's a pain and you have to go in person (for obvious reasons)and they charge for it.
If in doubt,(like me)it's really easy to disconnect the ECU. Just remove the fishbowl cover. (don't ask why it's called a fishbowl, but it's the cover you see when you lift the bonnet. You'll see the feed hose for the windscreen (windshield) wipers that connects into the bonnet (hood) at one end and the other end connects to the fishbowl cover.
Undo the screws, disconnect the washer hose and it'll pull out.
On the same side of the fishbowl as the battery, you'll see an aluminium box that is the same size as a car radio. That's the ECU.
On either side, you'll see two metal flaps that prevent the box sliding out. Just pull the ECU upwards and depress the metal flap on either side and it'll come out. There's just enough length of earth strap to remove the ECU. Underneath the ECU you'll see a large connector. Unplug this (note that it has a lever that you lift up, which pushes the connector out - don't just yank on it)and leave it disconnected for a good few hours (overnight if you can).
Describing how do do something always make it sound much more complicated that it is. The first time I did it, it took me 15 mins, mainly because I didn't notice the lever on the ECU connector. Now I can do it in 5 minutes.
If you've got a garage to keep the car overnight, then just leave the hood up etc, but if not, you could just stick the fishbowl cover in the boot (trunk) but if rain is suspected, just pop it back on.
NB - when you have the fishbowl cover off, you'll notice a fairly thick rubber tube about 4 inches long in the middle of the cover's length. The purpose of the fishbowl cover is to ensure that the water that pours off the windscreen (windshield) doesn't cover your wiper motor or engine. It has a cunningly shaped box underneath that collects the water and directs it to the 4 inch long hose. When replacing the cover, ensure that you arrange the hose so that it points down the hole rather than getting squashed, otherwise the next time you're in the car wash...
God, I really hope you DID mean the ECU! :-)
Good luck
