the rear was off when i bought the car, and the glue that was remaining has dried to white, which looks like crap, and this morning i was scraping it off with my pocket swiss army knife
the front one broke the other day (they are stretch fit) and the passenger side 1/3 was hanging off. i was going to glue back but because of the stretch fit, it wouldn't meet the rest of it, so i started to pull at the remaining one and a piece cracked off
at that point i just started pulling and pushing and found i could push them back into car where they are now hiding behind the bumper above the splash guards. i saved the little piece
i'm not sure if i like the look or not, the front is all black underneath, so it doesn't completely look like crap, but the black glue that was used may turn white like the rear, and then it will look like crap
i may pull off the splash guards, and pull them out and then reglue (once i snapped off the retaining clip that helps to keep tension on it, i could meet the two ends, and so i could reglue and not have a break.
i might go to auto part store and see if they have chrome stripping the same width and just glue that on
or buy a roof rack for the car and focus on how good that makes the car look and forget about the chrome bumper trim
i'll try to post a pic of both ends of the car today if i have time
