You may recall the post about my car being broken into earlier this week. Thanks to all who replied.

Anyway, someone raised the question why the alarm didn't go off. I just figured that the Saab alarm system only trips if you actually unlock or open one of the doors with the alarm still engaged. I just looked in the manual and found information about the glass breakage sensor installed in the dome light. I never really knew what that thing with the button was, but I actually unwittingly removed it last year. The old dome light had a broken snap and was always falling down, so I replaced it with one without the sensor that I found somewhere. So, for all those wondering, that's why my alarm didn't go off. Even if it had, it would have just ticked off the neighbors; I'm sure the theif would've still taken the radio.

P.S. In case anyone was curious, the button on the dome light allows you to defeat the glass sensor in case you're leaving dogs or kids in the car and don't want them setting it off accidentally.
