Ok Aaron - I hope that's it.
Now about the steering. The steering shaft
comes through the firewall from the cabin and
a bracket. There it makes a conection
with the countershaft. The countershaft in turn disappears into a
bellows assembly on its way to the rack.
It is the connection where the steering shaft meets
the countershaft that you should look first. If that
all looks good - no missing screws, all tight, then check
for slop where the countershaft goes into that lower bellows -
there's bushing there.
There is also a bearing assembly on the away from the cabin
side of the steering braket - the bracket looks kinda like a
square horses foot - ankle towards the cabin, hoof towards
the steering box. Don't goof with too much with the stuff on the
high "ankle" side of the steering bracket, most of it is associated
with the airbag, except for the slide rail.
Best wishes, Buck
