Hello there,
intermitten no start can be a pain.
I'm no expert, but i can tell you that sometimes, intermittent electrical problems will never get solved... they can just be nightmares.
it can be cause by multiple bad connections, and you'll never find all of them... you know?
but there is hope, you just have to trust me. ;)
my friend had a similar problem, car wouldn't start.
the starter, ignition cyl., and batttery were all fine... so...
we ran a wire directly off the battery, to a big red button that we fixed into the dash board. (out of the way of course, so it doesn't look bad)
then we ran the wire out of the button, to the starter positive terminal iteself.
This way, when you push the button, and close the circuit... power travels directly to the starter from the battery.
Any bad relays, or wiring, is completely bypassed, and you never have to worry about it again. As long as the battery and starter are good, your car will crank over... of course, i cannot gurantee that it will always run! ;)
so... use a decent size wire, i'd say closer to 1/4 in diameter like some car audio wire is... to ensure proper current draw.
Radio shack supplies big push-button style buttons... and all you need is a drill and a bit to drill a hole into one of the blank panel spacers in the dash, like by the seat heater switches, which is where my friend has his.
The procedure for starting the car like this is:
1. turn the key to the ON position
2. Push and hold button until the engine starts running
3. release button
4. drive away smiling! ;)
you could spend the next few months trying to figure out why the car isn't starting right, but i gurantee this will only take you about 2 hours to do, or less... and you'll never have the problem again...
it's up to you
good luck
