...I know it's my fault. You don't have to rub it in! :)

I used to be really good about taking the face off at night (right after I installed it) but I'll admit I was getting a bit lazy about it recently. Honestly, I think it's silly having to take the face off your stereo, and that's just how you look when you walk into some place carrying your faceplate. But as I found out, it does only take one time to lose the whole thing!

Honestly, I'm not upset about losing the stereo. I didn't really even use the CD/MP3 player on the deck; I listen to XM 90% of the time these days. I think it makes more sense to just have a decent amp under the seat and rig up a way to directly connect the XM to it, keeping the worthless factory CD/tape player for occasional use. I'm not really even sure why I bought the Clarion in the first place, I guess mainly because it was a really good deal and had good preouts/AUX IN. I also thought I'd use the MP3 player. BTW, the DXZ835's MP3 navigation is terrible (useless), as is the 'random' feature.

At least this deck had a removable face. Before I got into Saabs, I used to be really into car stereo equipment. The best deck I (anyone) ever had was the legendary Clarion 9255 (they finally brought it back after almost 10 years!). That $1000 deck didn't even have a removable face. I ended up making a cover for it out of an old factory radio, but I usually parked in the garage anyway. Those were the days.
