Pitting in Cylinder Head. Is this OK? (pic)

Hi All,
So I've pulled the cylinder head off of my '86 9kT as it was burning coolant. Even after resurfacing, there is some light pitting in the head above some of the coolant passages. The pic shows the two worst spots. It isn't deep (I can barely feel them with my finger nail) but I want to make sure that they won't cause a problem. For what it's worth, I feel they look worse in the pic they they do in person.
I see the Townsend site recommends filling the pits with JB Weld. Is this advisable and/or necesary (Ideally, I don't want to have it remachined).
Thanks for any advice!
Craig
