I have searched without luck on the BB for advice on installation of new switch for sun roof on 91 9KT. The trailing edge pops up when the switch is pushed into the forward position, but then doesn't close when the switch is depressed in the back position; and, the roof will not slide open. Must be bad contacts or something in the switch. Mechanic tried a fix by cleaning the switch, but only lasted through a few cycles before problem returned. I've been told new switch is expensive, so I want to try finding the part myself and installing it. Is it plug-in or sodder ? How tricky is it to lift (and replace)the panel on the center console where the switches are installed ? Initial search on parts site looks like the switch is not a single unit, but included on a "platform" that has switches for windows and rear window lock too. Is this right ? Any thoughts on whether this is a manageable project would be greatly appreciated. Having just installed new antenna mast (w/help from this site), wondering whether this is about the same level of difficulty ? Thanks.
