...also, check to see if the TCS check valve (two-colored plastic component on firewall) you installed is oriented correctly. If you've got it on backwards, it will create some of the symptoms typical of the TCS limp-home mode. If that check valve is reversed, it can create the problem you describe, and perhaps without triggering the TCS warning lights. (I know this to be the case because this very thing happened to me.)
With the car off, disconnect, turn the valve around and reconnect. Start the car and see if that does the trick. Did you also indicate that you'd replaced all the vaccuum hoses? Might want to be sure everything's run to the correct locations.
In general, the stiff pedal you describe is related to TCS limp-home. So if the above does not work, search under "TCS," "Limp Home Mode," etc., on this 9000 BB.
