Get yourself two very small, thin flat-bladed screwdrivers. Smaller is better. You can GENTLY lift the rear of the power mirror plate away from the door handle surround. Lift it away just enough to slip the second screwdriver in. The second screwdriver should go in with the point facing the front of the car - the screwdriver is horizontal. Basically, there is a catch on the plate holding the power mirror control, and the release is just aft of the switch. You want to slide the screwdriver along the back of the plate, and about half-way along is the catch. When you hit it, the plate will just pop off.
This exposes a screw that holds the surround on. Remove the screw and surrond, and behind you'll find yet another screw holding things on.
Be patient - when you hit the catch, everything comes free. You get better at it over time.
