Had a busy day Saturday getting the clutch, brake, gas pedal asembly in on the 94 cde. Got the 5 speed shifter linkage in early Sunday morning. Not much since...
Still have to take apart the drive shaft to measure the length to tell John so he can send me matching ones from his lot for the smaller LPT drive cups I got from him two weeks ago.
Other than that, I am waiting for the following to come in the mail
turbocharger with plumbing (recycled),
engine oil cooler lines (recycled),
slave cylinder and throw out bearing (Eeuro).
Actually I have already ordered and got delivery of a Scantech slave for $47. I don't trust it and will install the OEM one from Eeuro ($156). Shall see if and how they are different when I get the OEM.
The drive shaft bearing housing/rear engine mount bracket for 5 speed transmission I got from John is making a grinding noise turning it without load. I can buy the bearing and dust seal, send it to the shop to have the old bearing pressed out and new one pressed in. Instead, I located one used for $35 including shipping. I'll take that.
One good thing not having to rush the project is problems may be detected. I already sealed the engine last week. But last night I noticed the engine is wet from oil seeping out between the flywheel and the block. Not good with the cold engine on the stand not under load. Opened it up. It is from the rear main seal. I used the old engine end plate with the seal in it from what's left over of my old 94cs engine (five years ago) because I broke the endplate on the 94cde in two separating the auto transmission from the engine. As much as I have been skimping on cost, I still want a functional car. A wet spot in my garage is the last thing I want. It is also stupid to save on a $15 seal. So I ordered one from Eeuro. That means I have to open the sump, remove the engine end plate to install the crank seal and seal both up again.
The only part I have not secured is the clutch bleeder nipple on the 5 speed transmission. I just could not get the old one out. Help on a source short of going to the dealer is appreciated.
