Some things don't quite make sense - you said that the DI works, yet the plugs are wet with gas - how did you test the DI? Did you use the "buzz" test? Or did you swap it onto another car?
I would have to do some research on the CPS. I'm pretty sure that the engine control only powers the fuel pump if the engine is turning over, and the only way it knows the engine is turning is the CPS.
Wet plugs usually mean no spark, or way too much fuel.
